Peoria, up close.

Old Town Peoria, around 83rd and Washington avenues, is tree-lined and established, walkable to a growing restaurant and specialty-shop scene as the city revitalizes the historic townsite. Head north and you're in Vistancia, a large master-planned community split into The Village, Blackstone (golf), Trilogy (age requirements apply to residents) and Northpointe, minutes from Lake Pleasant Regional Park. Same city, very different setup: older homes close to the historic center versus newer, amenity-heavy communities close to the lake.

Park West, at Northern Avenue and Loop 101, is the go-to for a nicer night out — restaurants and shops including Hash Kitchen and The Sicilian Butcher, plus a Harkins theater and a well-regarded farmers market. P83, just south of Bell Road on 83rd Avenue, is more everyday: chain and local restaurants clustered around Peoria Sports Complex. For something with more character, Old Town Peoria's downtown corridor has locally owned spots like Obed & Isaac's Microbrewery.

Lake Pleasant Regional Park is the big one — 23,000-plus acres with miles of trails, two full-service marinas for boating and fishing, and popular paths like Pipeline Canyon and Yavapai Point. Closer to home, Peoria's community parks like Rio Vista and Pioneer add urban lakes, splash pads, and sports fields for everyday walks and weekend outings without the drive north.

Loop 101 runs right through Peoria and is the main route south into Glendale and the rest of the West Valley, with Bell Road, Thunderbird Road, and Northern Avenue as the key east-west connectors feeding onto it. Depending on where you land in the city, you're looking at a straightforward 15–25 minute drive to Glendale's employment corridors or Westgate.
